My garden, MY FAIRY KINGDOM

Recently, my garden was described to me, “an archway to a fairy kingdom” - a pathway to peace and healthy wellbeing.

I am very fortunate to be able to escape to this vegetation kingdom. Being blind, I feel the size, shape and texture of each plant. An app describes to me in audio what I can not see. I hear many different birds as they interact and feed on the flowers of my refuge. I breathe in the air that my plants give me. This is how I take time to care for myself, in turn this energises me to be there for others.

Credit for my beautiful garden is to my son, Peter, who provides a small corner of the world, a place that is earth connecting.

I acknowledge the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work.
